Scholarship Summary: 
The Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship Program (Scott Scholars) provides complete funding to Nebraska students for an undergraduate college experience including tuition, room and board, and whole-person learning opportunities. Eligible areas of study include majors within the UNL College of Engineering, UNO College of Information Science and Technology, and other STEM related programs.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
Scott Scholars applicants must have:
High School GPA of 3.5 or greater
ACT score (Composite or SuperScore) of 30 or greater
Permanent Nebraska Residency
Enroll in programs of study within approved academic programs associated with the UNL College of Engineering, the UNO College of Information Science & Technology, the UNO College of Arts and Sciences, the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service, and the UNO College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. https://www.unomaha.edu/admissions/apply/index.php

The Scott Scholars Application requires you to input your NUID.

To begin, access the online Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarship Application.

To prepare, gather and create the following required application materials before starting the form:
  • Resume
  • Unofficial or official high school and college transcripts
  • ACT Scores
  • Digital file of portrait or headshot
  • Contact information for one STEM-focused recommender who will participate in phone call evaluation (letters of recommendation not required)
  • Link to your 12-15 minute video: Applicants are required to provide a YouTube link to a 12-15 minute video as part of the application.
4. Applicants Invited to Interview
Upon receipt of all application materials, eligible applicants will be invited to attend a Scott Scholars Applicant Day event and interview with the Scott Scholars Admissions Committee.
