Scholarship Summary:
Case Western Reserve University will consider top-performing incoming freshmen (domestic and international) for a number of select competitive scholarships which require additional information and/or essay submission.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria for consideration but past recipients were in the top 8% of the applicant pool.
Value of Scholarship:
The CWRU Freshman Competitive Scholarships are named as follows;
i. Andrew and Eleanor Squire Scholarship: Full Tuition annually {Open to first-year applicants in the arts; humanities; management; accountancy; and natural, social and behavioural sciences, One available}.
ii. A.W. Smith Innovation Scholarship: Full Tuition annually {Open to first-year applicants in engineering, the physical sciences and mathematics, Two available}.
iii. Louis Stokes Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Scholarship: Full Tuition annually , $2,500 grant and assistance in securing a paid summer internship {Open to economically and educationally disadvantaged first-year students, One available}
iv. Alexander A. Treuhaft Memorial Scholarship: Full Tuition annually {Open to first-year applicants in science and engineering, One available}.
v. Case Western Reserve University Leadership Scholarships: $2,000 - $5,000 {Awarded to first-year applicants who display outstanding leadership in academic and extracurricular pursuits, Several available}.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. A complete application for admission must be received by January 15 (regular deadline) and a complete scholarship application must be received by February 1 to be considered for the special awards. Apply for individual scholarships with the links given in the scholarship link below.
ii. For applicable awards, finalists will be invited to a required competition in March to determine the winners.
iii. Winners will be notified of their award by April 1; if you receive a scholarship in the amount of tuition, this replaces any previous scholarship and/or grant award from the university.
