Scholarship Summary:
All prospective freshmen students (domestic and international) that apply for admission into KSU Honors College will be automatically considered for Honors College scholarships. All entering freshmen are offered an Honors Distinction Award of $2,000 per academic year. Students are also considered for additional honors scholarships when they apply to the Honors College.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Have a minimum 3.7+ (weighted or unweighted) cumulative high school GPA
Please also note that the Selection Committee will be seeking freshmen that demonstrate the potential for superior scholarly and creative activity at the university.
Value of Scholarship:
The KSU Honors Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Honors Distinction Award: $2,000 per academic year (For all admitted Honors College freshmen)
ii. Donor-funded Scholarships: $500 - $2,000 per academic year {in addition to the Honors Distinction Award}
The Honors Scholarship can be warded in addition to Academic Achievement Award.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete the Kent State University application by Dec. 1, 2023 to meet the Honors deadlines.
ii. First-Year admission to the Honors College is by invitation only. If eligible, you will be invited by the Selection Committee to apply for admission into the College.
- The Honors College application is supplemental to the Kent State University application (which should be completed by December 1) and is one of the most important components in determining a student's success and acceptance into the Honors College.
- The application should be completed after receiving your invitation, and requires an essay response along with requested information regarding academic rigor and leadership/extracurricular activities.
