Scholarship Summary: 
All admitted domestic first-year students from states outside of Iowa entering Fall, who submit a complete application for admission, will be considered for the National Scholar Award (NSA) awarded by the Office of Admissions. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
Scholarship awarding and amounts are based on outstanding academic merit (standardized test scores and GPA) and exceptional promise at the University of Iowa.

Value of Scholarship: 
The University of Iowa Non-Resident Freshman Awards are valued as follows;
i. National Scholars Award: $2,000 - $15,000/year (for up to four years)
ii. Provost Scholarship: $3,000/year (For National Merit Finalists)

You must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at the University of Iowa (fall and spring terms), meet the required GPA, and continue to pay non-resident tuition for renewal. Renewal reviews are done at the end of each semester.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply,
i. Non-resident undergraduate first-year students who submit a by the above deadline, are automatically considered for the National Scholars Award.
ii. March 1, 2026, is the deadline to submit an updated transcript and/or official test score for scholarship reconsideration.
