Scholarship Summary:
The University of Calgary values its high achieving entering students (domestic and international) and these awards are for those students with demonstrated academic excellence as well as, accomplishments outside the classroom.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The following are the criteria for eligibility;
i. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership ability
ii. Applicants must have a minimum admission average of 90% with a strong indication of academic promise
Value of Scholarship:
The University of Calgary Prestige Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Schulich Leader Scholarship valued at CAD$25,000 and CAD$30,000 and is available to Canadian undergraduate students entering a STEM program at the University of Calgary.
ii. Chancellor’s Scholarship valued at CAD$15,000 and is available to Canadian students admitted into first year in any undergraduate degree program for the fall term
iii. Ena Lee Leaders in Business Scholarship is valued at CAD$20,000 and is available to Canadian undergraduate students entering the Haskayne School of Business Bachelor of Commerce degree program
iv. Leaders in Health Sciences Scholarship is valued at CAD$15,000 and is available to Canadian undergraduate students entering first year in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program, Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
v. Richard and Lois Haskayne Scholarship is valued at CAD$25,000 is available to one Canadian undergraduate student entering the Haskayne School of Business Bachelor of Commerce degree program
vi. Seymour Schulich Academic Excellence Scholarship is valued as CAD$13,150 for Calgary residents and CAD$26,350 for students outside the Calgary area. It’s open to undergraduate students entering first year in the Schulich School of Engineering and international students are also eligible.
vii. Seymour Schulich Community Scholarship is valued as CAD$13,150 for Calgary residents and CAD$26,350 for students outside the Calgary area. It’s open to undergraduate students entering first year in the Schulich School of Engineering and international students are also eligible.
All awards are renewable for up to four years.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. You must first apply for admission. You will be given access to the award application once you have submitted your application for admission.
ii. You can access the award application through your Student Centre of My UCalgary portal. You will need your eID and password which you created when you applied for admission.
iii. In your Student Centre, click on the "My Financials" page.
iv. Scroll down to the Awards & Scholarships section, and click on "Apply for Undergraduate Awards". Please ensure popups are enabled. If popups are blocked the page will not display.
v. A pop-up window will open on your screen with any open applications or ones that recently closed. Please pay attention to the ‘Application Available’ and ‘Application Deadline’ dates.
v. Apply for the available prestige scholarships.
