Iowa resident undergraduate first-year students who submit a complete application for admission by the deadline are automatically considered for the available merit scholarships at the University of Iowa.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria but scholarship awarding and amounts are based on outstanding academic merit (standardized test scores and GPA) and exceptional promise at the University of Iowa.
Value of Scholarship:
The University of Iowa Resident Freshman Awards are valued as follows;
i. Iowa Scholars Award: $500 - $8,500/year (for up to four years)
ii. Provost Scholarship: $3,000/year (For National Merit Finalists)
You must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at the University of Iowa (fall and spring terms), and meet the required GPA for renewal.
