Scholarship Summary: 
University of British Columbia is looking for the most accomplished and promising Canadian citizens and permanent residents to join its community. The Presidential Scholars Award program offers the most prestigious awards available to students who are entering UBC.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must:
i. Be high school and CEGEP students who are Canadian citizens and permanent residents
ii. Excel across the board and have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements in the arts, community, athletics, and school.

Value of Scholarship: 
The Presidential Scholars Award includes the following;
i. A one-time award of approximately CN$5,000, AND
ii. A renewable award of up to CAD$40,000 on the Okanagan campus, and CAD$80,000 on the Vancouver campus, each payable over four years

Scholarship Application Guide: 
i. Students wishing to be considered for a Presidential Scholars Award must apply to UBC by December 1. This includes paying the admission fee and completing all sections of your online application.
  • High school applicants must answer “Yes” in the Awards section of the online application
ii. All high school applicants will be evaluated for the Presidential Scholars Award for their first-choice degree based on their Academic Profile and Personal Profile and “scholarship short answer” sections of the online application. UBC will not evaluate second-choice degrees for a Presidential Scholars Award.
iii. UBC will contact the majority of Presidential Scholars Award winners by the end of day on April 27. Only successful award applicants will be contacted.
