University of King’s College is offering the Sylvia D. Hamilton to African Canadian students entering their first-year in any undergraduate program (preference will be given to students entering the journalism program)
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
The following criteria will be considered when awarding this scholarship;
i. African Canadian (preference give to African Nova Scotian students)
ii. Demonstrated academic excellence and stated financial need
Value of Scholarship:
The Sylvia D. Hamilton Scholarship is valued as CAD$8,080 in total (CAD$2,020 per academic year, five awards available)
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. into King’s and provide all supporting documents, including official first-semester or mid-year grades to support your admission application.
ii. Complete the major awards application which can be found within your admission application in the Financial Aid section;
- Although it is encouraged for you to submit both at the same time, the admission application can be submitted without the award information filled in. If you submit your admission application without your award application, you will be able to access the major award application through your application status portal.
