Wofford Scholars is the largest merit-based scholarship program at Wofford College. Each February, high school counselors are invited to submit nominations for the Wofford Scholars Program. Nomination forms for students (US citizens and permanent residents only) graduating in 2025.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To qualify as a Wofford Scholar nominee,
i. A student should be ranked in the top 10% of the class and have achieved a combined score of 1300 (Critical Reading and Math) on the SAT/PSAT or a 28 on the ACT/PLAN.
ii. You must demonstrate leadership potential
Value of Scholarship:
The Wofford Scholars Award is worth between $60,000 and $250,000 over a four-year period (i.e $15,000 - $62,500 per year).

i. Nomination Process: Nominations for students graduating in 2026 may be submitted from now through Nov. 8, 2025 and can be done in one of two ways.
- Self-nomination: If you meet the minimum requirements for Wofford Scholars stated above,
- Nomination from High School Counselor:
- High school counselors may nominate individual students through this nomination form.
- High school counselors may nominate multiple students by completing the bulk nomination spreadsheet. Do not copy and paste into the spreadsheet, you must fill out each field individually. Send your bulk nomination spreadsheet to admission@wofford.edu as an excel file
ii. Scholar nominees should apply for admission and submit all application materials by either Early Decision (binding; Nov. 1 deadline) or Early Action (non-binding; Nov. 15 deadline).
Submit the following items for a complete application:
- The Common Application (including Secondary School Report Form)
- An official transcript
- A letter(s) of recommendation is encouraged
iii. Students are then selected and invited to Wofford Scholars Interview, which will hold on November 22, 2025 (nominees will receive a registration link via email in September).
- The interviews are conducted in a group setting. Typically, there are 4-5 scholars in a group being interviewed by a Wofford professor and other members of the Wofford community. The questions vary from group to group.
