Scholarship Summary: 
New UNK students who are Nebraska residents pursuing high-need degrees may be eligible for up to $10,000 per year thanks to the Nebraska Career Scholarship. This scholarship allocates $2 million to the University of Nebraska for new scholarships for undergraduate students in high-demand fields to help fill critical workforce needs in the state. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible, students must, 
i. Be Nebraska residents
ii. Obtain a minimum ACT score of 20 with competitive high school GPA
iii. Enrolled in health care, engineering, mathematics, computer information systems, pre-veterinary medicine, communication disorders, biology, chemistry, exercise science, industrial technology, and psychology.

Value of Scholarship: 
The UNK Nebraska Career Scholarship is valued as follows;
• Incoming freshmen students with ACT scores 20+ may receive scholarships of up to $10,000. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, housing and food, or relevant tools and equipment.

Renewal Criteria
•  Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
•  Successfully complete 30 UNK credit hours each academic year (fall and spring semesters)
•  Remain enrolled in eligible degree program
•  Complete a Nebraska-based internship, apprenticeship, clinical position or other work related to career field prior to graduation

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply, complete the following steps by March 1:
1.  Apply for Admission into an eligible program at UNK.
2.  Apply for FAFSA
3.  Submit ACT or SAT scores to UNK
4.  Complete the General Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application on MyBLUE by March 1.
