Scholarship Summary: 
The Scott Scholars Program at Hastings College is designed to help develop the next generation of leaders for Nebraska and beyond. The program targets high achieving domestic freshmen students pursuing studies in business, science and entrepreneurial-related disciplines, who are passionate about exploring their development and potential inside and outside of the classroom.

The program, funded by the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation, allows up to 15 incoming students each year to receive a renewable scholarship. 

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for a Scott Scholars Award, students must; 
i. Apply and be admitted to Hastings College.
ii. Qualify for a Crimson (GPA: 3.90 and above) or Ambassador (GPA: 3.75-3.899) academic scholarship as determined by your high school GPA.
iii. Major or double major in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business/Economics or Math/Computer Science 
iv. Have a minimum ACT score of 26+ or SAT of 1230+ 

Value of Scholarship: 
i. Scott Scholars receive a four-year renewable scholarship that covers 100% of tuition, fees and room and board — plus the $2,000 travel stipend annually to help cover costs to attend a conference, fund a research project or support an internship.

ii. Scott Scholars can also participate in an annual excursion to attend leadership or other events in Nebraska or across the country and other programming coordinated by the program’s director.

i. Upon admission, apply and be selected to participate in one of the .

Application requirements include: 
  • Activity resume, a 500-word essay, optional video, submitted an application for admissions to Hastings College.
ii. 25 high school seniors will be selected to participate in each session
  • First session: Friday, December 5 (evening) through the morning of Sunday, December  7, 2025
  • Second session: Friday, January 23 (evening) through the morning of Sunday, January 25, 2026
