Scholarship Summary:
Loras College is proud to stand in solidarity with colleges and universities across the United States in offering international students financial assistance through the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship program. Up to four (4) awards will be offered annually.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
These are the eligibility criteria for this scholarship;
• First-year international applicants of any major. International applicants are individuals who hold citizenship in a country outside the U.S. who don’t also possess U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
• Graduation from or attendance at a secondary school outside the U.S.
• Commitment to promoting intercultural learning and exchange
• Must be a full-time student
• Must live in campus housing
• Must maintain good academic standing each year
Value of Scholarship:
The Loras #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship is a renewable award of $1,500 in addition to student’s acceptance award.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
• Students admitted to the college may apply for this scholarship. The scholarship application can be found on the Student Status page.
• Students must complete the CSS Profile and have the results sent to Loras College.
• Applications must be submitted by March 1. Please check with your admission representative for further details.
• The application includes:
o Upload Essay: Within the scholarship application, students will be prompted to upload a 500-1000 word essay or a two-to-five minute video that responds to the following prompt:
o In looking forward to your future education and career, what significant activity, research, work or project do you hope to undertake in support of intercultural learning and bridging cultural divides? Please describe your ideas in detail.
