Scholarship Summary:
Ontario Tech University is awarding major entrance scholarships to Canadian undergraduate applicants who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, exceptional leadership and community involvement.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must;
• Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
• Be in their final year of secondary school, entering their first undergraduate university degree.
• Demonstrate personal leadership and excellence in extracurricular activities beyond academic requirements, and/or significant contributions to community or family.
• Have earned minimum 85 per cent in best six 4U or 4M courses.
• Be attending the university from secondary school within 18 months of graduation.
• Be enrolled in a minimum 80 percent course load per term.
Value of Scholarship:
The OTU Major Entrance Scholarship is valued as follows;
i. Chancellor’s Scholarship: CAD$36,000 {CAD$9,000 for four years}
ii. President’s Scholarship: CAD$30,000 {CAD$7,500 for four years}
iii. Founder’s Scholarship: CAD$24,000 {CAD$6,000 for four years}
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. You must apply to Ontario Tech University to be considered for this award. Apply through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre by January 15. You must have applied to Ontario Tech University to be considered for this award.
ii. Complete the online application. Printed application forms will be discarded.
iii. Submit scholarship reference forms, submitted by your two referees only. Please ensure you send the link to your references to complete. They will require your student ID and email address in order to submit their reference on your behalf.
iv. Applications must be submitted no later than February 22. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed, nor will applicants be notified.
v. Successful applicants will be notified in early June.
Only one application is required to be considered for all three awards.
