Scholarship Summary:
To recognize outstanding academic achievement, University of Waterloo is awarding a number of President’s Scholarships to top performing Canadian students entering for full-time undergraduate studies.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
• Be admitted to a full-time, first-year degree program and
• Be beginning university or college for the first time in September, and
• Have an early May admission average of 85% or more (admission average consists of your top 6 grades, including all of the required courses for the program you applied to).
Value of Scholarship:
The non-renewable University of Waterloo President’s scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Presidential Scholarship of Distinction {95% or higher}: CAD$2,000 Entrance Scholarship + CAD$1,500 International Experience Award** and/or CAD$1,500 Research Award**
ii. Presidential Scholarship {90 – 94.9%}: CAD$2,000 Entrance Scholarship
iii. Merit Scholarship {85 – 89.9%}: CAD$1,000 Entrance Scholarship
** These awards are available in your upper years if you choose to claim them and if you complete your first year with at least an 80% average.
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no separate scholarship application; students automatically are eligible if they meet the required criteria upon admission.
