Scholarship Summary: 
Tuskegee recognizes incoming freshmen (US citizens and permanent residents only) with excellent academic records and outstanding promise by offering a limited number of renewable merit scholarships. There is no separate scholarship application. All eligible students are considered for these opportunities on the basis of their admissions applications and supporting documentation (e.g. official high school transcripts, etc.).

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for consideration for a Tuskegee Freshman Merit Scholarship, you must;
i. Be an incoming US freshman with admission into an undergraduate program at Tuskegee
ii. Obtain a minimum cumulative HS GPA of 3.1
iii. Have a minimum SAT score of 1030 or an ACT score of 20

Value of Scholarship: 
The Tuskegee Freshman Merit scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Distinguished Presidential: Full tuition, room/board, fees, and $800 books (3.7+ GPA and 1300-1420+ SAT/28-32+ ACT)
ii. University Merit: Full tuition + $800 books (3.5 GPA and 1200-1290 SAT/25-27 ACT)
iii. University Achievement: $10,000 (3.3 GPA and 1100-1190 SAT/22-24 ACT)
iv. Tuskegee University Grant: $8,000 (3.1 GPA and 1030-1090 SAT/20-21 ACT)
v. Alabama Incentive Grant: $5,000 + housing (2.8 GPA and 1030-1090 SAT/20-21 ACT) {ONLY for qualified Alabama residents}

Recipients of the aforementioned University merit scholarships and grants must meet the cumulative college grade point average and completed credit hours for each academic year to maintain the award.
 
Scholarship Application Guide: 
No Application is required. Applying for an undergraduate program at Tuskegee automatically places you in consideration for a merit award.
  • All new students are required to pay a non-refundable $400.00 enrollment fee by the priority deadline of May 1. If enrollment fee is not received, the award is subject to cancellation.
