A range of academic scholarships, awarded based on high school academic performance, are available at Texas Lutheran University and all accepted undergraduate students (domestic and international) at TLU will be considered for an academic scholarship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum HS GPA of 2.5
Value of Scholarship:
The Texas Lutheran University Freshman Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Regents' Scholarship: $28,000 (4.60 GPA and above)
ii. Presidential Scholarship: $26,000 (4.10 - 4.59 GPA)
iii. Distinction Scholarship: $24,000 (3.70 - 4.09 GPA)
iv. Academic Excellence Scholarship: $22,000 (3.30 - 3.69 GPA)
v. Heritage Scholarship: $20,000 (2.80 - 3.29 GPA)
vi. Commendation Scholarship: $18,000 (2.79 GPA and below)
Other Available Awards
- The SAT/ACT award of $1,000-$3,000 is in addition to your Academic Scholarship (Heritage, Academic Excellence, or Presidential). Test scores must be received by June 1 to be eligible for a SAT/ACT award.
- $3,000 (1400+ SAT or 31+ ACT)
- $2,000 (1300+ SAT or 28+ ACT)
- $1,000 (1100+ SAT or 22+ ACT)
Academic Scholarships are renewable for up to three years (a total of four years) based on continued full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 earned at TLU.
