Scholarship Summary:
The Laurel Scholarship at Mars Hill is the most prestigious award offered to exceptionally gifted students (US citizen and residents only) with a commitment to character development, to service, and to responsible citizenship in the community, the region, and the world.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be incoming freshmen and early college students pursuing a full-time traditional undergraduate degree.
ii. Academic Criteria – Two of three of the following must be met:
1. Minimum 3.8 High School GPA
2. Top 5% of graduating class
3. Minimum SAT of 1300 OR minimum ACT of 27
Value of Scholarship:
The Laurel Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship and is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission into Mars Hill.
ii. Complete the Laurel Scholarship application form found here; 2 letters of recommendation from teacher/instructor/mentor are required.
iii. Selected applicants will then be invited to an interview held in-person at Senior Visit Day;
- Friday, October 13, 2023 – to participate in interviews on-campus on Saturday, October 28, 2023 or virtual interviews after October 28, 2023
- Friday, November 17, 2023- to participate in interviews on-campus on Saturday, December 2, 2023 or virtual interviews after December 2, 2023
