Scholarship Summary:
The Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships Scheme was created to support high-achieving international students to pursue coursework studies at the University of Sydney. The Scholarship is open to all commencing international students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework full degree.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible, you must:
• must be an international student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003.
• must have applied for but not yet commenced an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree that is a CRICOS registered award program usually delivered onshore at the University of Sydney
• receive an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant close date.
• Applicants commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible provided they have not previously held the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships.
Value of Scholarship:
Five scholarship amounts are offered based on your ranking against the selection criteria:
- $60,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
- $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
- $20,000 payable for one semester
- $10,000 payable for one semester
- $5,000 payable for one semester
The availability of some amounts may be limited to specified cohorts.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. No application is required, as all eligible students who have secured an unconditional by specified dates, will be automatically considered.
ii. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit as assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
iii. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two nominees of the Executive Director, Sydney Future Students and one nominee of the Admissions Office.
iv. Applicants must complete the Acceptance of their Unconditional Offer by the relevant deadline associated with their scholarship offer round, and remain enrolled after census date.
