Scholarship Summary:
All entering freshmen students (domestic) at the Belhaven Jackson, Mississippi campus are eligible for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are based on high school or college academic performance and determined upon application to the college. Merit-based scholarships may not be awarded in combination with tuition discounts, waivers or sponsorship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicants must;
i. Be full-time students who are seeking a first bachelor's degree in the traditional undergraduate program.
ii. Obtain a minimum score of 20 on the ACT or its equivalence on the SAT (reading and math only) and a 2.9+ high school grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale upon graduation.
Value of Scholarship:
The Belhaven Freshman Scholarships are valued as follows;
1. President’s Scholarship: $15,500-$16,000 annually ($3,500 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater and an ACT of 26 or above}
2. Dean’s Scholarship: $13,500-$15,000 ($3,500 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater and an ACT Score from 20-25}
3. Advantage Scholarship: $12,500-$15,000 ($3,500 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater and no test scores}
4. Achievement Grant: $12,500-$14,000 ($3,500 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater}
All the above scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years (or 8 semesters) if the student is full-time and maintains satisfactory academic progress.
