Scholarship Summary:
All entering freshmen students (domestic) at the Belhaven Jackson, Mississippi campus are eligible for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are based on high school or college academic performance and determined upon application to the college. Merit-based scholarships may not be awarded in combination with tuition discounts, waivers or sponsorship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicants must;
i. Be full-time students who are seeking a first bachelor's degree in the traditional undergraduate program.
ii. Obtain a minimum 2.75 high school grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale upon graduation.
Value of Scholarship:
The Belhaven Freshman Scholarships are valued as follows;
1. President’s Scholarship: $17,000-$17,500 annually ($5,000 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater and an ACT of 26 or above}
2. Dean’s Scholarship: $15,000-$17,000 ($5,000 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above and an ACT Score of 20+}
3. Achievement Grant: $14,000-$15,500 ($5,000 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above and an ACT Score of 18-19}
4. Advantage Scholarship: $14,000-$15,500 ($5,000 toward campus housing while the remainder of the scholarship goes toward educational expenses) {Required: High School Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater and no test scores}
All the above scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years (or 8 semesters) if the student is full-time and maintains satisfactory academic progress.
