Scholarship Summary:
RIT offers merit-based scholarships to incoming freshmen students (US citizens and residents only) who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, receive exemplary letters of recommendation, and strong exam scores. Other factors are also considered such as; community involvement, outstanding leadership, service, entrepreneurship, citizenship, creativity or other characteristics that the university deems of value. Students who meet the eligibility requirements for multiple RIT merit-based scholarships will be awarded the highest valued scholarship unless otherwise indicated.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria but past recipients were in the top 45% of the applicant pool.
Value of Scholarship:
The RIT Freshman Merit Awards are namely as follows;
i. RIT Presidential Scholarship
ii. RIT Founders Scholarship
iii. RIT Recognition Scholarship
iv. RIT Tiger Pride Award
All awards are renewable for up to 8 semesters as long as student remains in good academic standing.
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no special application necessary; simply submit a completed admission application and supporting materials by the admission priority filing deadline.
