Set up in memory of Professor Mike Walker OBE, this scholarship is available for a full or part-time postgraduate student, with Home or International fee status, studying for one of the courses listed below, within Computer Science and Information Security.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible;
i. You must have achieved, or be on target to achieve, a minimum of a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, and not have the financial means to undertake further study without this scholarship. You will need to clearly demonstrate this in the application.
ii. You must have an offer to study for one of the following Royal Holloway Masters courses:
Information Security
Computer Science
Value of Scholarship:
The Holloway Professor Mike Walker Scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee reduction up to the value of £12,000.

To apply;
i. You must apply via the online system , where you will be able to complete your statement and upload any required documents including your grades transcript.
ii. You must provide a supporting statement of no more than 400 words, which should include:
- Academic achievements and other activities you are particularly proud of and why these really matter to you;
- Why you have chosen to do the degree you have applied for;
- Your future aspirations and how the scholarship will help you achieve these and contribute to society;
- From a financial standpoint, what impact this scholarship would have on your education;
- Any special personal or family circumstances affecting your requirement for financial assistance.
Your statement will be judged on how effectively and convincingly you respond to the above.
