Scholarship Summary:
The James Hughes-Hallett Undergraduate Scholarship has been established through generous philanthropy to support BA History of Art students who are from groups that are underrepresented in UK Higher Education. This new scholarship has been made possible through the generosity of Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and donations to the James Hughes-Hallett Memorial Fund.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
You must meet all of the criteria below to be eligible:
i. You must be attending a non-fee paying UK state school or college
ii. Your household income is below £45,000 per annum
iii. You must be studying at undergraduate level for the first time
iv. You are holding an offer to study at The Courtauld
If you also meet one or more of the criteria below, you are more likely be awarded the scholarship:
• Care leavers
• Estranged students
• Your parents(s) / guardian(s) did not attend university
• Carers
• Received or were eligible for free school meals
• Students living with a disability
• Students from a minority ethnic group
• Students with refugee status
Value of Scholarship:
The scholarship (3 available) is worth £10,000 over the duration of your three-year degree. You will receive a third of this amount annually, which will be paid directly into your bank account. This can be awarded in addition, to the annual Courtauld Bursary.
