Scholarship Summary:
The UMassD First-Year Doctoral Fellowship is awarded to academically strong graduate applicants (domestic and international) with the potential to succeed at UMassD and beyond. The goal for this award is for the fellows to have one year to focus on course work while they seek out a research advisor who can support their remaining studies.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Have outstanding academic credentials
ii. Plan to enroll for full-time graduate studies
Value of Scholarship:
First Year Doctoral Fellows receive one year of support that includes a stipend of $18,000 plus a full tuition and Curriculum Support Fee waiver. Recipients are expected to maintain a 3.5 GPA and make satisfactory progress in their program.
Scholarship Application Guide:
All students admitted to doctoral programs will be considered for First Year Doctoral Fellowships.
Note: If there is an applicant that the program feels is particularly desirable, the Graduate Program Director (GPD) may nominate a potential doctoral fellow (multiple nominations are allowed).
