NAU is delighted to award high-performing domestic undergraduate students with a host of merit scholarships. The amount awarded is dependent on residency status.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:

i. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 3.0
Value of Scholarship:
The NAU Freshman Merit-based scholarships are valued as follows;
For Arizona residents
i. Lumberjack Scholar’s Award – Covers 100 percent of NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus tuition per academic year; does not cover fees or other expenses {Required GPA: 3.75-4.0 unweighted}
ii. President’s Resident Tuition Scholarship - $9,000 per academic year {Required GPA: 3.5-3.74 unweighted}
iii. Dean’s with Distinction Scholarship - $6,500 per year {Required GPA: 3.4-3.49 unweighted}
The NAU Freshman Merit-based scholarships are valued as follows;
For Arizona residents

For WUE residents
i. Founders Non-resident Gold Tuition Scholarship - $6,000 per academic year {Required GPA: 3.5-4.0 unweighted}
ii. Founders Non-resident Blue Tuition Scholarship - $5,000 per academic year {Required GPA: 3.0-3.49 unweighted}
iii. Founders Non-resident Opportunity Tuition Scholarship - $2,500 per academic year {Required GPA: Admitted-2.99 unweighted}
For Out-of-state residents
i. President’s Excellence Non-resident Tuition Scholarship - $11,000 per academic year {Required GPA: 3.5-4.0 unweighted}
ii. President’s Non-resident Tuition Scholarship - $9,000 per academic year {Required GPA: 3.0-3.49 unweighted}
