Scholarship Summary:
University of South Carolina is awarding academic merit scholarships to incoming domestic out-of-state freshmen who have shown excellence in their academic credentials.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
As reference, in 2023, recipients of the Academic Recognition Award had an average SAT score of 1300 (ACT score of 29) and an average high school GPA of 4.4 and were in the top 15% of their high school class, on average.
Value of Scholarship:
The USC Academic Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Alumni Scholars Award: Annual value: $8,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value with tuition reduction: more than $100,900
ii. Academic Scholar – Elite Award: Annual value: $4,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value with tuition reduction: more than $100,900
ii. Academic Scholar – Excellence Award: Annual value: $2,000 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value with tuition reduction: more than $92,900
iv. Academic Scholar – Superlative Award: Annual value: $500 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value with tuition reduction: more than $86,900
v. Academic Scholar – Distinction Award: Annual value: $500 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
Four-year value with tuition reduction: more than $62,192
vi. Academic Scholar – Merit Award: Annual value: $500 + tuition reduction to in-state rate
