The Davidson Competition Scholarships are some of our most important and generous awards. These annually renewable scholarships are offered to freshmen students (domestic and international) who have demonstrated extraordinary potential and ability to contribute to our vigorous living and learning community.

The Davidson Competition Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. William Holt Terry Scholarship - Full tuition and fees annually, and a one-time $3,000 special opportunity stipend (2 awarded in each first year class)
Scholarship Application Guide:
i. Candidates are identified by the Davidson admission and financial aid staff and the Scholarship Programs office. Selection is based on a number of factors that Davidson values in its holistic review of students, inclusive of (but not exclusive to) the strength of their application, significant talents, leadership, and commitment to service. No separate application form is required.
ii. Finalists for the Terry Scholarship are chosen from among those Davidson applicants for admission identified as outstanding candidates by the Dean of Admission and the Director of the Terry Scholarship program.
iii. Finalists will be invited to participate in selection interviews in March.
