Scholarship Summary:
The Matelich Scholarship is University of Puget Sound’s most prestigious honor for two freshmen students (domestic and international) who demonstrate a capacity for a life of leadership and sustained personal growth. Recipients of the Matelich Scholarship enter a promising lifetime relationship with the University of Puget Sound.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
When selecting Matelich Scholars, the committee looks for more than academic achievement and potential for intellectual growth. Matelich Scholars are motivated to serve purposes bigger than themselves. Their focused intensity, personal drive, and strong moral compass allow them to be leaders. Even before graduation from high school, they have demonstrated their focus and commitment to improving their communities.
Value of Scholarship:
The Matelich Scholarship covers 100 percent of Puget Sound’s tuition and fees (room, board, and student government fees) for up to four years of undergraduate education at the University of Puget Sound.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply for the Matelich Scholarship, all interested students must;
i. Submit a complete admission application and Matelich Scholarship application by December 1.
ii. 10 finalists will interview virtually in late February and be invited to campus for one of our admitted student events on March 29, April 5, April 13, or April 19, 2024. Two Matelich Scholarships will be awarded.
