Scholarship Summary:
SUNY Oneonta is awarding merit scholarships to first-year students from New York who have demonstrated academic achievement, distinction or excellence. Funds are limited and subject to annual funding allocations.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Demonstrate exceptional academic ability in high school
ii. Be New York residents
Value of Scholarship:
The Oneonta NY Freshman Merit Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. President’s Award: $5,000/year
ii. Dean’s Award: $3,000/year
iii. Achievement Scholarship: $1,000 /year
All merit scholarships are renewable for 4 years (8 semesters) provided recipients meet continuing eligibility requirements. Unless otherwise noted, merit scholarships are applied to non-tuition related expenses up to total cost of attendance.
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no separate application or essay is required but priority will be given to students who apply for admission and have submitted a FAFSA by January 15, 2024.
