Scholarship Summary: 
JSU is awarding the International House Scholarship, a global living and learning program, to domestic and international freshmen who demonstrate appreciation for cultural diversity and different perspectives.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be considered for participation in the International House, prospective students must;
i. Be aged 18 to 24 years 
ii. Be admitted as undergraduate level students at JSU with a High School GPA of 2.5/4.0
iii. Have demonstrated maturity, high respect and appreciation for cultural diversity and different perspectives.
 
Value of Scholarship:  
Recipients of the International House Scholarship will receive a ‘tuition and fees scholarship’ and a 'housing scholarship' for up to 2 years

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
1) American Students: If you attend one of the JSU partner institutions and have been selected by your home institution to attend JSU, your application to the International House will be considered. You must already have been accepted to JSU as an exchange student. Find below the list of documents to be submitted: 
    • Submit your completed application form
    • Submit your high school transcripts 
    • Submit your college transcripts if you have college credits 
    • Submit an essay explaining your background, community services, accomplishments and why and how you think you will be a better fit to the program. 
    • 2 Letters of Recommendation from non-family members who can attest to your accomplishments, character and your fit to this program. Recommendation Letters should NOT come from family members, friends, classmates, yourself, or your current/former Resident Assistant. These letters should be attached as well as sent to intlprog@jsu.edu and should reference your full name and your JSU student id number.

2) International Undergraduate: If you are international undergraduate student, you must submit the following listed documents:
    • Complete this application
    • Essay explaining your background, accomplishments and why you should be selected as an International House member.
    • 2 Letters of Recommendation from non-family members who can attest to your accomplishments, character and your fit to this program. Recommendation Letters should NOT come from family members, friends, classmates, yourself, or your current/former Resident Assistant. These letters should be attached as well as sent to intlprog@jsu.edu and should reference your full name and your JSU student id number
    • Copy of High School transcript and/or diploma
    • College transcripts if you have college credits 
    • Meet English Proficiency Skills (Test scores as listed on International Admissions page)

You must send proof of financial document to cover the rest of your academic cost of attendance. Proof of financial document may be a bank letter or bank statement showing a checking or saving account balance. For the minimum amount to be shown on the financial support document, email intladmissions@jsu.edu.
