Scholarship Summary: 
The February One Scholars Program at NCAT seeks to recruit and retain very high achieving domestic freshman students in an environment where intellectual curiosity is stimulated and conducive to in-depth and engaged learning. Leaders are empowered to grow and develop professionally and social consciousness and service to society is used to influence the world for the better.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for selection as a February One Scholar, a senior must satisfy the following criteria:
•  Be a competitive applicant for admission as a freshman in the fall semester into a baccalaureate program at NC A&T.
•  Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
•  Be on course to graduate from high school in the spring semester prior to college admission.
•  Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a minimum score of 1270 on the SAT or 27 on the ACT.
•  Must pursue an undergraduate degree program within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Education, or the College of Health and Human Sciences.
•  Embody the characteristics of the A&T Four through exceptional qualities of character and leadership, be significantly involved in extracurricular activities, and demonstrate a strong commitment to service.

Value of Scholarship: 
The February One Scholars Program covers the following: tuition, student fees, housing, and meals.

Scholarship Application Guide:

Step 1: Complete the Undergraduate Admissions Application by October 15, 2023. 

Step 2: 
Applicants should then submit their application through the Honors Program Application Portal by November 15, 2023 and prepare the following items to be included:
  1. Name and email address of high school official (if submitting school endorsement).
  2. Name and email address of two recommenders (academic, service, or leadership source).
  3. Copy of high school transcript in pdf
  4. Two essays (prompts provided within the application)
  5. List of extracurricular activities
  6. Pre-recorded video interview
Step 3: For consideration of the February One Scholarship, a student must be nominated by a high school official or self-nominate. 

School Endorsed Nomination: Applicants must first register an account through the Honors Program Portal. Within the application, applicants will have the option to select the school endorsed option and list the counselor name and email address. Upon initiating the request, the counselor will receive a separate notification to submit their nomination.

Step 4: Selected semi-finalists will be contacted in mid-December and the finalists will be invited in late January to participate in the Honors Weekend and Finalist Interview to be held in February 23-24, 2024.

Step 5: All finalists will be notified of their recipient status on March 8, 2024.

Please note: Only one Honors application is necessary to be considered for the Dowdy, February One and Cheatham-White scholarships.
