Scholarship Summary:
The Royal Agricultural University is offering the RAU Bursary (Stream 2) to eligible UK undergraduates to serve as financial help over the duration of their course of study.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this bursary, you must:
i. Be a UK student, resident in England or Wales and entering into your first year of an undergraduate degree course. Please note, this bursary is not available to students entering on a Foundation year leading to a three year degree course
ii. Be entitled to funding for fees and living costs from the relevant Student Finance body and have taken out the full loan for 2025/26
iii. Have a household income of £42,875 or less as assessed by the relevant Student Finance body.
You must also meet a minimum of one of the following:
i. Care leaver
ii. To live in a UK postcode identified as having low progression to higher education according to the Government’s POLAR4 (Quintile 1 and 2) – please see link to assess if you qualify: link
Value of Scholarship:
Students can apply for an RAU Support Bursary which is worth £3,500 for each year of undergraduate study up to a maximum of £10,500. All Bursary payments are made in three termly instalments (autumn, spring and summer) and will be made direct to a nominated bank account.
Students awarded a RAU Bursary (Stream 2) are not exempted from applying for an additional award.
Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no need to complete an application form. Eligibility is assessed by the University using the financial information you have shared with Student Finance England/Wales. As a result, you would need to have your Student Finance loan approved by 15 August 2025.
Students will be notified by letter provided via the Bursary Administration Service from Student Finance England/Wales.
