Scholarship Summary:
The St. John Henry Newman Scholarship is the most exclusive Newman University award, given each year to a limited number of high-achieving students (US citizens and residents). This scholarship is renewable for eight consecutive semesters (half in Fall/half in Spring) to students who enroll full time each semester and fulfill the program requirements.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Have a minimum cumulative 3.9 GPA+
Value of Scholarship:
The St. John Henry Newman Scholarship covers the full tuition cost and is renewable for up to four years provided the following requirements are met;
• Live on campus all four years
• Complete 32 hours of community service each semester
• Maintain a cumulative 3.4 GPA
• Enroll full time each semester
The Monsignor McNeill Scholarship may be awarded to up to ten high-achieving students who qualify, apply, and interview for the St. Newman Scholarship but are not selected as one of the five recipients.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission and be accepted into Newman.
ii. Complete the online scholarship application by the deadline, which includes the submission of a personal résumé, a picture, two professional or academic references, and a 30-60 second video answering the question, "Why do YOU want to attend Newman University?"
iii. Selected applicants will be required to interview with representatives from the selection committee and complete a timed essay on a given topic.
