Scholarship Summary:
Iowa State is committed to enrolling a diverse and talented student population and is thus awarding a limited number of merit scholarships to international freshmen. Scholarship selection is competitive and based on a holistic review.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be considered for scholarships, applicants must;
i. Be admitted into Iowa State University
ii. Not be receiving financial sponsorship through their home country's government
Value of Scholarship:
The ISU International Freshman Scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Award of Achievement: $5,000 – $10,000/yr
ii. Award of Distinction: $2,000 – $4,000/yr
Recipients will be funded for a maximum of 8 semesters, or completion of the degree, whichever comes first provided a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 and continuous enrollment in a minimum of 12 semester credits each semester (summers not included) are met.

ii. When admitted, complete the Iowa State University OneApp scholarship application;
- Complete the General OneApp application; then navigate to Opportunities > Recommended > International Students Admission Scholarship Application (Choose spring or fall) and apply.
