Scholarship Summary:
Need-based financial aid is available to international students seeking undergraduate degrees at Northwestern. NU guarantees to meet 100% of all admitted first-year students’ demonstrated financial need for all four years. NU is need-aware for international students, meaning that a request for financial aid consideration and the amount of financial aid you require may factor into your admission decision. Additionally, as part of the need-aware aid policy, you must apply for, and receive financial aid, for your first year if you plan to apply for assistance in later years.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria for receiving the NU International Financial Aid but past recipients were in the top 20% of the applicant pool and had demonstrated significant financial need.
Value of Scholarship:
The Northwestern University International Financial Aid covers 100% of a student’s demonstrated financial need and could reach up to the full cost of attendance (tuition, room and board, fees, health insurance, books and supplies, personal expenses and travel allowance)
Scholarship Application Guide:
Follow the steps below to apply for financial aid;
i. Request financial aid consideration: When completing the application for admission, be sure to indicate that you are requesting consideration for financial aid by checking “yes” in the financial aid interest box. Deadline for Fall 2024 admission is January 3, 2024.
ii. Complete and submit the College Scholarship Service (CSS Profile) by Feb 1
For students meeting the financial aid deadline for their application plan, financial aid award notification will be sent with or soon after your acceptance letter.
