Scholarship Summary:
The EIU Promise program is a new financial aid program that can significantly reduce – and in some cases completely eliminate – tuition and fees for qualified Illinois freshman students.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
EIU will reduce the cost of your remaining tuition and required fees to $0 if you meet all of these criteria:
• Be a resident of Illinois, with at least one parent (listed on your FAFSA) also an Illinois resident
• Have a family adjusted gross income of $66,000 or less annually
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Are admitted to EIU as a full-time incoming freshman (12 or more credit hours)
• Have your financial aid packaged and completed by June 1 of the year you intend to enroll
• Meet all other AIM HIGH Grant requirements
Value of Scholarship:
The EIU Promise Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and required fees up to 15 credit hours per semester, including textbook rental fees. This Scholarship is renewable for up to four years provided the renewal criteria are met.
