The UK £4,000 Undergraduate Scholarship will primarily target underrepresented and disadvantaged students in Higher Education, bringing together inspirational courses, innovative staff, to create a better future and #TakeOnTomorrow. This award is for UK/Home students applying to study at Northumbria University on a Full-Time Undergraduate course in the academic year 2024/25.
To be considered for the Northumbria Undergraduate Award you must also;
- Be a UK/Home applicant (Home includes UK students and those eligible to pay Home fees)
- Apply and enrol to study on a on a Full-Time basis on an Undergraduate Course starting in first year at Level 4 at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, commencing September 2024
- Choose Northumbria as your firm choice by 6 June 2024
- Meet the conditions of your offer and individual entry requirements
- Be a self-funded student (i.e. not sponsored by an employer)
- Register with Student Finance England (SFE), Student Finance Wales (SFW), Student Finance Northern Ireland (SFNI) or Student Award Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
- Agree to share consent via your Student Finance Provider with Northumbria University
In addition, students need to meet two of the three following characteristics to be considered;
- You have a household income of less than £35,000
- You are from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background
- You have declared a physical and/or mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference on your UCAS form
Successful students will receive a total of £4,000, paid in instalments* throughout years one, two and three.
- The Northumbria Undergraduate Award is awarded as cash
- *Payments will be made as £335 (25%) by the end of November 2024, £335 (25%) by the end of February 2025 and £665 (50%) by the end of May 2025

ii. Eligible students will be notified after 06 June 2024
iii. You will know the outcome of your application following results day in August 2024.
