Scholarship Summary: 
Established in 2021, the Ross Scholarship has been generously donated by Joan Ross to support students from rural or regional areas of Australia and who will commence an undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
You must:
be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
be a recent school leaver and have an unconditional offer of admission for a full-time undergraduate degree within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney
have a rural or remote primary residential address, defined by the Australian Government Doctor Connect classifications as inner regional, outer regional, remote or very remote.

Note: Applicants who have deferred or have undertaken a gap year are not eligible.

Value of Scholarship: 
This scholarship is valued at AUD$7,200 per annum and is tenable for up to four years.

Scholarship Application Guide:

b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
    I. inner regional, outer regional, remote/very remote status as determined by the Australian Government Doctor Connect classifications, and
    II. personal statements outlining:
       1. how the scholarship will assist them in their studies at the University of Sydney, and
       2. their interests in studying a Science degree and what they hope to achieve from their studies.
c. Preference may be given to an applicant based on ATAR or equivalent.
d. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, or their nominated delegate.
