Scholarship Summary:
If you are a US first-year student but live outside of New York state, SUNY Plattsburgh may award you the Welcome to New York Grant which will significantly help to reduce your out-of-state costs.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
These are the eligibility criteria for the Welcome to New York Grant;
i. Be a resident of any U.S. state other than New York and accepted for admission to SUNY Plattsburgh.
ii. Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen who pays the non-resident tuition rate.
iii. Pay a $250 deposit before beginning your first year. The funds are applied to other billed costs.
iv. Undergraduate first-year, transfer, and readmit applicants are eligible.
v. Attend full-time beginning in August or January, taking 12 or more credits.
vi. Pay the non-resident tuition rate.
vii. Live on campus
viii. Applicants to the nursing program are not eligible for the Welcome to NY Grant.
Value of Scholarship:
The Welcome to New York Grant of $9,000 per year is deducted from your room and board costs. That's $4,500 per semester.
You must maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA in each fall or spring semester to which the grant applies. One probationary semester is available if the student falls below the cumulative GPA.
