Scholarship Summary: 
Each academic year, The University of Toledo awards the Presidential Scholarship to a group of select, incoming domestic freshmen whose high school achievements distinguish them both as students and as members of their respective communities.

UToledo's Presidential Scholars enjoy the campus' highest distinction an undergraduate can earn. This credential and the award that goes with it can open doors to campus leadership and research opportunities, internships and the often life-changing summer experiences the scholarship enables.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.8 for all applicants. You may apply with a minimum GPA of 3.8 with no penalty. Applicants submitting test scores should have a 30 ACT or 1360 SAT. 
ii. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.

Value of Scholarship: 
Presidential Scholars receive $25,000 per year for four years. The scholarship includes a one-time $3,000 stipend for an experiential learning opportunity. 

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Applicants are encouraged to submit the application for admission to UToledo, including official transcripts and optional test scores, by October 15, 2024.
ii. Submit the Presidential Scholarship application including extracurricular résumé and personal essays by following the following steps;
  • Step 1: Access the Scholarship Portal.
  • Step 2: Click on the 'student' button - Once you click the student button, a new page will pop up for you to log into Scholarship Manager.
  • Step 3: Log into Scholarship Manager - You will use your myUT log in and password.
  • Step 4: Click ‘start application’ under the Presidential Scholarship Application - Once logged in, the Scholarship Manager homepage will appear, where the Presidential Scholarship Application will already appear in your account.
  • Step 5: Complete the application. There are three components to the application. 
  1. Student Information: Certain fields will already have pre-generated information. This information is pulled directly from your admission application.
  2. Resume: This includes extracurricular activities, honors and awards, and work experience. Please ensure you include all relevant information in this section. We want to learn more about you!
  3. Essays: There are four essays to complete — one personal essay and three additional essays. The personal essay is 600 words or less and the additional essays each should be under 300 words. All essays must be completed before you submit your application. Take your time answering these questions!
  • Step 6: Sign the Statement of Integrity and Authorization of Release
  • Step 7: Click Review and Submit. Congratulations! Your application has officially been sent to the committee.
NOTE:
1. The Presidential Scholarship application also serves as the application to the Jesup Scott Honors College, UToledo's premier academic experience for undergraduates.
2. Students who are selected for scholarship consideration, must be available for an interview.
