Benedictine College awards the Dean’s Scholarship to incoming students (US citizens and residents only) who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. This tuition award is a renewable four-year scholarship based on college involvement and academic performance.
The scholarship amount is established for the student’s first year and remains constant throughout the student’s enrollment and does not adjust, even if tuition costs should change in future years.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible, applicants must;
i. Obtain a non-weighted 3.5 high school GPA
ii. Earn a minimum cumulative SAT score of 1260 or a minimum composite ACT score of 27 or a minimum CLT score of 84
iii. Test-optional applicants are to submit an official high school transcript showing a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Value of Scholarship:
The Dean’s Scholarship covers 75% of the student’s tuition charges (valued as $26,650) and is renewable annually.
Scholarship Application Guide:
If eligible,
i. Apply for admission to Benedictine; a maximum of (5) five scholarships will be awarded annually, based on a competitive Honors Committee selection process.
ii. Register for the , which includes the Scholarship Competition. There are two Scholars Weekend in 2026;
- Friday and Saturday, January 31 - 31, 2026
- Friday and Saturday, February 6 - 7, 2026
The Competition
On Saturday, students from all over the country will compete for one of these prestigious scholarships through:
- An on-site essay based on 3-5 prompts
- A 20-minute interview* with 2 faculty members, administrators, or board members
Attendance on Saturday is mandatory for all competitors, although all participants are encouraged to take advantage of the Friday activities.
*Your resumé will be provided to faculty or staff members prior to your competition interview. It must be kept to one page. Please do not include your GPA, class rank or test scores on this resumé.
