Scholarship Summary: 
The New Arkansan Non-Resident Tuition Award Scholarship (NRTA) is an opportunity that benefits domestic students from across the country by making tuition and fees even more affordable. The NRTA scholarship covers the majority of the difference between out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition and is automatically granted to eligible degree-seeking students.  

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be US citizens or permanent residents who are not residents of Arkansas
ii. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 3.20

Value of Scholarship: 
The UA Non-Resident Awards are valued as follows;
i. New Arkansan NRTA for Surrounding States (Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas): covers the majority of the difference (70-90%) between out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition 

ii. Extended States New Arkansan NRTA for all other non-residents: covers the majority of the difference (50 or 80%) between out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition 

Exceptionally well-qualified students may also receive additional merit scholarships.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
Students must to be considered but are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.

New Arkansan NRTA recipients will be first notified on their admission profile residency statement. Awarded students will also receive additional information from the Academic Scholarship Office.
