2024-25 University of Essex GREAT Scholarships (England Based)

Scholarship Summary: 
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Essex is proud to offer four (4) GREAT Scholarships to applicants from China (Mainland), Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand for the academic year 2024-25.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
You can apply if you:
i. You must be a national of and permanently domiciled in China (Mainland), Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand;
ii. Be classed as an international student for fee purposes;
iii. Hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) to start an eligible, one-year full-time Master’s degree starting in October 2024. 
iv. Have a background of extracurricular activities relating to your chosen subject area.

Value of Scholarship: 
The GREAT scholarship is valued at £10,000, which must be used towards the cost of tuition fees.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
To apply;
i. Please complete the GREAT application form (.docx) and submit to greatscholarships@essex.ac.uk by 31 May 2024. 
ii. Successful applicants will be notified on or before 30 June 2024.

In addition to the normal criteria for admission to the chosen University of Essex Master’s degree, a GREAT Scholar must be:
i. active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area
ii. able to demonstrate their motivation and academically be able to follow and benefit from an Essex postgraduate taught course
iii. willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI
iv. willing to demonstrate future contribution to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement through the benefits achieved after graduating from UK higher education
v. willing to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars
