The Presidential Scholarship is the highest honor and largest scholarship available at Briar Cliff University. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to four incoming undergraduate students (US citizens and residents only) who have exemplified academic excellence, outstanding contributions to their community, and extraordinary leadership thus far in their education careers.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Be admitted as a first-time, full-time undergraduates
ii. Obtain a minimum high school GPA of 3.75 (on a 4.0 scale)
iii. Demonstrate outstanding contributions to their community, and extraordinary leadership
Value of Scholarship:
The Presidential Scholarship will provide full tuition + general fees (after state and federal aid are applied), to four freshmen students.
Scholarship Application Guide:

i. Complete an application for admission into Briar Cliff.
ii. Complete the scholarship application form found in .
- Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation should be from non-related individuals who can describe the applicant’s strengths, weaknesses, and characteristics. This will help the interview committee determine the applicant’s ability to succeed, contribute, and lead at Briar Cliff University.
- A resume that displays a history of academic effort, leadership experience, and volunteerism in the community.
- A video submission in which applicants introduce themselves and speak in detail about the activities in school, church, and community that they have taken part in as well as list any distinctive academic honors, awards or recognitions they have received.
iii. Applicants must apply by the deadline to be considered for the interview process that will take place on January 23rd, 2027.
iv. Each candidate must be a part of the in-person committee interview process in which the committee members finalize and select recipients for that given year.
v. If you qualify to participate in the interview portion, the time and date will be communicated to you, following your application.
vi. Recipients can expect to be notified the week after their interview.
