Scholarship Summary:
The Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Scholarship is one of the premier scholarships available to domestic undergraduate students (U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents) at the University of Miami. This scholarship is awarded to exceptional and academically accomplished high school seniors.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
There are no set criteria for consideration but all applicants will be automatically considered when they apply for early admission to UM by Nov 1st.
It's important to note that past recipients of this award were in the top 10% of the applicant pool.
Value of Scholarship:
Weeks Scholars receive the full cost of tuition for four years of undergraduate study at UM. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the academic year must be maintained at the University of Miami to retain this scholarship.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Apply for admission to UM by the Nov 1 deadline and submit all required First-Year Admission Requirements.
ii. Selected candidates for the Weeks Scholarship will be prompted to submit an essay for consideration as finalists.
iii. The Selection Committee will review all essay submissions and identify the finalists whom they recommend to receive the Weeks Scholarship.
iv. Recipients of the Weeks Scholarship will be invited to participate in the University of Miami's scholarship program, which will be held in early March. During this program, candidates will meet with UM faculty and current scholars and learn more about UM's interest-driven education.
