Scholarship Summary:
The UCLan Financial Bursary Scheme is financial support awarded to UK students from low income households. This support is provided in instalments, made across the academic year directly into eligible student bank accounts.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
In order to be assessed as eligible for the Scheme you must meet the following criteria:
i. Paying the maximum tuition fee
ii. Studying at the main or Burnley Campus sites
iii. Studying full-time on an eligible Undergraduate Degree programme
iv. Have an assessed household income of under £20,000 from Student Finance England / Northern Ireland / Student Awards Agency for Scotland (Not available in Wales)
v. Fully enrolled and in attendance at the time of each payment
vi. Have validated bank details registered on the University secure system

Value of Scholarship:
The Scheme awards £500 a year for Year 0, Year 1 and Year 2 of study and £750 for Year 3

Payments will be made in two instalments each year, once eligibility has been confirmed and your bank details submitted. The first instalment will typically be processed at the end of November and the second at the end of February, to those students who are eligible at the time.

Scholarship Application Guide:
There is no direct application that needs to be made to be assessed for the Scheme. Students must have applied to Student Finance to have their household income assessed, and must register their bank details with UCLan in order to be assessed for the Scheme. When applying for household income assessments, both students and their sponsors (parents, guardians etc) must consent that Student Finance can share their data with the University.

Once students have completed enrolment with UCLan, the academic year has begun, and confirmation of household income from Student Finance has been received, UCLan will then begin assessing students for eligibility. Eligible students will receive an email to their UCLan email address confirming their eligibility as each payment approaches.
