Scholarship Summary:
Southern Utah University is committed to rewarding gifted incoming freshmen students with exceptional academic qualifications and is offering merit scholarships to all eligible domestic freshmen. Only one score (GPA or ACT or SAT) is required for all scholarships except the President’s.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
For Utah residents
i. Have a minimum 3.4 GPA or 23 ACT or 1130 SAT
For Utah non-residents
i. Have a minimum 2.5 GPA or 18 ACT or 960 SAT
Value of Scholarship:
The SUU Merit scholarships are valued as follows;
For Utah residents
i. Centurium Scholarship: $500 per year {3.40-3.59 GPA/23-26 ACT/1130-1230 SAT}
ii. Dean's Scholarship: $2,000 per year {3.60-3.79 GPA/27-29 ACT/1260-1330 SAT}
iii. Founder's Scholarship: $3,230 per year {3.80-3.89 GPA/30-32 ACT/1360-1420 SAT}
iv. Fellow's Scholarship: $4,456 per year {3.90-4.0 GPA/33-36 ACT/1450-1600 SAT}
v. President's Scholarship: Full Tuition/$6,456 per year {3.9-4.0 GPA/28+ ACT/1300+ SAT}
For Utah non-residents
i. Centurium Scholarship: $12,000 per year {2.50-3.69 GPA/18-30 ACT/960-1380 SAT}
ii. Founder's Scholarship: $14,800 per year {3.70-4.0 GPA/31-36 ACT/1390-1600 SAT}
iii. President's Scholarship amounts: Full Tuition/$21,008 per year {3.9+ GPA/28+ ACT/1300+ SAT}
For WUE residents
i. Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship: $12,000 per year {2.50-3.69 GPA/18-30 ACT/960-1380 SAT}
ii. Founder's Scholarship: $14,800 per year {3.70-4.0 GPA/31-36 ACT/1390-1600 SAT}
iii. President's Scholarship amounts: Full Tuition/$21,008 per year {3.9+ GPA/28+ ACT/1300+ SAT}
All above scholarships are renewable for eight semesters.
