Scholarship Summary: 
The USM freshman scholarship awarding is based on a weighted combination of high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and ACT or SAT scores. Freshman Academic & Merit Scholarships are for entering first-year students only (domestic and international); full-time day enrollment is required.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must;
i. Obtain a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 2.4 (out of a 4.0)

Value of Scholarship: 
The USM Freshman academic scholarships are valued as follows;
i. Presidential Scholarship: $17,500 per year {3.8 high school GPA or above (unweighted on a 4.0 scale)}
ii. Dean's Scholarship: $16,500 per year {3.5-3.79 high school GPA or above (unweighted on a 4.0 scale)}
iii. Trustees Scholarship: $15,500 per year {3.1-3.49 high school GPA or above (unweighted on a 4.0 scale)}
iv. Blue & Gold Award: $14,500 per year {2.8-3.09 high school GPA or above (unweighted on a 4.0 scale)}
v. Opportunity Award: $13,500 per year {2.4-2.79 high school GPA or above (unweighted on a 4.0 scale)}

Other Scholarships
vi. Catholic High School Scholarship: $1,000 per year {Must have attended a Catholic high school; can be awarded in addition to one of the above academic scholarships}
vii. Honors Scholarship: $2,500 per year {For students admitted into the Honors Program; can be awarded in addition to one of the above academic scholarships}
