Scholarship Summary: 
Notre Dame offers merit scholarships to a limited number of international students, accepted for admission as first-time incoming freshmen, who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment, leadership, commitment to service, and intellectual promise.

There are no set criteria for consideration but past recipients were in the top 7% of the applicant pool.

Value of Scholarship: 
Notre Dame’s merit-based scholarships vary in amount, these scholarships are typically renewable for four years and recipients may be invited to participate in leadership development and enrichment opportunities as an additional benefit of their award.

Scholarship Application Guide: 
Selections for all merit-based scholarships are made as part of the and no separate application is required for consideration, however, eligible students may be contacted directly with a request for additional information (e.g. resume, phone interview, essay, etc.) prior to selection.

Need-Based Financial Aid
i. Prospective first year students wishing to be considered for need-based financial assistance must complete the CSS Profile by February 1 (available October 1). 
ii. Required documents are requested and submitted once your CSS Profile is submitted through the College Board's Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC)
Requested documents may include:
  • Parent U.S. or Foreign Tax Return or Parent Non-filer Statement
  • Parent 2024 Earning Statements
  • Examples: Official document from employer showing annual salary amount.
  • Verification Worksheet
iii. Based upon a review of academic qualifications, financial need, and availability of student aid resources, each applicant will be considered for financial assistance, which may include student employment and University scholarship assistance.
