Scholarship Summary: 
JSU Honors Scholarships are awarded to domestic students (US citizens and residents) based on the highest high school GPA and composite test score (ACT/SAT) JSU's Office of Admissions has on file.

Scholarship Applicant Criteria: 
Students who wish to apply for the JSU Honors Scholarship must;
i. be US citizens or residents
ii. have a 3.75+ high school GPA;
iii. a 30+ on your ACT or 1360+ on your SAT

Value of Scholarship:  
JSU Honors recipients receive:
i. Tuition - $5,145/semester 
ii. Housing ($2,910/semester)
iii. Meal Plan ($1,770/semester)
iv. Books ($900/semester)
v. General University Fee ($635/semester)

Scholarship Application Guide: 
In order to qualify for the JSU Honors scholarship, 
i. You must first be accepted as a first-time freshman into JSU and complete an additional scholarship through the Competitive Foundation Scholarship portal, opens Sep 1 (search for honors scholarship).
  • This scholarship requires an additional application and the following requirements: a completed application and essay, a high school transcript through the applicant’s junior year, a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor, and a high school resumé. Find resume template here.
ii. Semi-finalists will be selected based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, academics, a strong pattern of community/school involvement and service, and an essay. 
iii. Finalists will be invited to participate in an interview with members of the Honors Board.
