Named in honor of St. Thomas’ 14th President, the Reverend Dennis Dease, who was committed to making a St. Thomas education accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds, the University of St. Thomas annually selects approximately 10 well-qualified domestic students to receive a full-tuition Dease Scholarship.
Scholarship Applicant Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must;
i. Be prospective freshmen
ii. Have high financial need
iii. Demonstrate commitment to academic excellence, leadership and their communities.
iv. Complete a 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Minnesota Dream Act application, listing the university code, 002345.
Value of Scholarship:
The University of St. Thomas Dease Scholarship covers the full tuition cost annually.
Scholarship Application Guide:
To apply;
i. Complete an application for admission to St. Thomas for Fall 2026
ii. Log into the and apply for the Dease scholarship.
iii. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form or the Minnesota Dream Act Application by the recommended February 1 deadline.
iv. The Dease Scholarship Committee will review applicant’s credentials and announce finalists in the spring of 2026.
v. Semi-finalists will be invited for a conversation with the Student Diversity and Inclusion Services team the week of February 23, 2026.
- Awardees will be announced in March, 2026.
